Join the Ignatius Legacy Society!

We invite you to become a member of the Ignatius Legacy Society, a society established in honor of our parish. Members of the Ignatius Legacy Society are those people who have made a Planned Gift(deferred gift) to St. Ignatius Parish or School.

The Ignatius Legacy Society recognizes the generosity of individuals and their families who have demonstrated a commitment to their Catholic faith and Catholic education by including St. Ignatius Parish or school in their wills or other forms of planned giving.

Many families have provided planned gifts that have provided the financial stability to build our new church and plan for the future of our parish and school.

What is a Planned Gift?

A planned gift is a contribution that is arranged in the present and allocated at a future date. Commonly donated through a will or trust, planned gifts are most often granted once the donor has passed away.

Why Make a Planned Gift?

If you believe in the mission of our parish and Catholic education, specifically a St. Ignatius education, then you believe it should be preserved for the future. Planned Giving helps ensure a secure financial future for our school and continues the tradition and importance of Catholic education.

Everyone’s financial situation is unique. Therefore, we encourage you to contact your financial advisor or attorney for information regarding the most favorable option for you before entering into any charitable or planned gift agreement. If you have named St. Ignatius Parish or school as a beneficiary of a planned gift, please notify us so we can understand your goals in advance to ensure your funds are used at St. Ignatius in accordance with your wishes.

Leave a Bequest

One of the easiest ways to give is to leave a bequest. You do this by designating St. Ignatius Parish, or School, as a beneficiary of your asset by will, trust or beneficiary designation form.

Gifts of Retirement Assets

Donating part or all of your unused retirement assets such as a gift from your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension or other tax-deferred plan is an excellent way to make a gift to our organization.

What are the tax benefits of planned gifts?

Donors can contribute appreciated property, like securities or real estate, receive a charitable deduction for the full market value of the asset, and pay no capital gains tax on the transfer.

Donors who establish a life-income gift receive a tax deduction for the full, fair market value of the assets contributed, minus the present value of the income interest retained; if they fund their gift with appreciated property they pay no upfront capital gains tax on the transfer.

Gifts payable to charity upon the donor’s death, like a bequest or a beneficiary designation in a life insurance policy or retirement account, do not generate a lifetime income tax deduction for the donor, but they are exempt from estate tax

The St. Ignatius Capital Campaign is an ongoing effort to support the capital projects of our parish and
school.

TOMORROW

Major gift donations can be designated to support the following:

• Scholarships: Funds raised for scholarships can help and individual(s) with direct tuition needs while a student at St. Ignatius
• Endowment: Donations contributed to the endowment increases the corpus thus increasing the amount allocated to the parish and/or school annually, helping keep tuition and parish costs affordable. 
• Special Projects: Aids in unforeseen capital improvements that are not accounted for in the annual parish and school budget.
• Special Programs: Donors can support a particular program such as LifeTeen or Teacher Enrichment.

Planned giving contributions preserve the future of St. Ignatius Parish and Catholic education in our community.
